How to Promote National Snack Day

Everyone loves snacking. Whether you’re using it to replace meals on the go or you’re looking to satisfy a craving, snacks really hit the spot. March 4th is National Snack Day, so as a food truck owner, you should be looking for a way to bring in new customers by appealing to the universal love of snacks.

Focus on Appetizers

Your appetizers and side dishes tend to make the best dishes for snacks, so they should be at the front of your promotions. One of the best things for customers about snacks is that they’re usually faster to get than an entree item, and they also satisfy cravings without feeling like you have to spring for a full meal. You can create a specific snack menu to display and make sure that these orders are filled quickly. You also can offer different appetizers depending on the time of day and where you’re parked.

Put a Twist on Favorites

The more familiar a snack is, the more attractive it can be, but that doesn’t mean you have to stick with the same sort of things as everyone else. The sweet spot is figuring out how to create something recognizable but that still has your own signature on it. Things like roasted nuts are a crowd pleaser, and you can offer a variety of options just by switching up the flavoring and spices you use in the roasting process. You can also switch up some of your favorite dishes with a more unique packaging or eating experience. Don’t worry about developing a new menu. Just make it an experience that your customers will enjoy or add something new that they’ll be intrigued by.

Make it Portable

One of the best things about snacks is that they’re easy to take on the go to eat whenever you’re hungry or to make it easier to fit into your day. When considering what you can sell on your menu for National Snack Day, make sure they’re things that travel easily. It shouldn’t be a full meal, and it should fit easily in a purse or pocket and satisfy a craving. In order to make things portable, you should look into foods that taste good at room temperature, and packaging that keeps the food in good condition and the things around it clean.

Highlighting snacks is a great way to draw in people on the go who may not have eaten at your food truck before and give them a taste of what you offer. Make sure that your snacks are just as high quality as everything else you serve so you can put your best foot forward.
