Top Places to Grab a Meal this Memorial Day

Those who serve in our country’s armed forces have committed to defending and serving its citizens and protecting its vital national interests. Some of those brave men and women have paid the ultimate price. We remember them and express our gratitude for their service on Memorial Day. While you’re out commemorating this national holiday, don’t forget to stop somewhere for a bite to eat.

A Local Sit-Down Restaurant

If you’re going to be on your feet most of the day, you’ll relish the opportunity to sit down, relax, and enjoy a meal at a local sit-down restaurant. This is a good option if you have at least 55 minutes to spend on eating (expect it to take longer with a larger party). Remember, you need time to look over the menu, place your order, have your food prepared and served, eat, and pay the bill. Choose your favorite local restaurant or try somewhere new if you’re feeling more adventurous.

Your Favorite Fast-Casual Restaurant

For those who want a chance to sit down and eat but don’t have the time to eat at a sit-down restaurant with a server, a fast-casual restaurant may be the perfect option. Fast-casual restaurants offer a lot of the convenience you get at fast food places, but with generally higher-quality food, minus the time and hassle of a full-service restaurant. You often have the option to build your own meal too. Memorial Day could be the perfect time to visit your favorite fast-casual restaurant.

Food Trucks

What if you want to support a small business and want to get your food quickly from a convenient location? It’s hard to beat food trucks in that regard. Food trucks are a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat, especially when the weather is good. You can get some truly delicious dishes from the different trucks out there. If you find a food truck rally, you can create a feast by getting different dishes for your meal from different trucks!

If you’re going to make a day out of your Memorial Day remembrance or celebration, good food has to be part of it. The easiest way to make that happen is to skip the home cooking in favor of grabbing a meal while you’re out. Keep in mind that some restaurants change their hours on holidays, so check before you go. Otherwise, use the WTF app to find open food trucks serving delicious food near you!
